I sometimes get so busy with the back end of running a business (e-mails, editing, correspondence, social media, etc.) and blogging gets pushed to the back burner. I have been trying to be much more consistent this year with showing not only weddings, but portrait shoots on the blog, because I love being able to photograph families, kiddos, and senior sessions year round.

Here are some of my favorite images of The Carley Family. I snapped some of them late last summer, and some during my fall mini-sessions!

I think it’s so nice to see how light changes with different seasons and even time of day. Here is a great example of why a weekday evening is perfect for family photos when we have these gorgeous sunny days. That time of day is called “Golden Hour” and really allows for beautiful light, which in turn creates beautiful photos.

The Fall Mini-Sessions were taken right at 12:00 in the day. The light was beautiful, but I think you can definitely tell the difference!
