Kyle & Kels : Ireland Adventure Photo Shoot

This past October, Kyle & I took a 12 day adventure to Ireland. It was on both of our bucket list’s before we got married, and so when it came up one night at home – we decided that we needed to get there.

One of the things that was on my dream list was to get some photos taken of us while we were there. Ireland is a BEAUTIFUL country and I wanted to remember not only the things we saw, but this season of our lives. The first 3 years of marriage have been so sweet. I never want to forget our “firsts”. And this was our first major adventure together. It was the farthest we have ever traveled, and the first time to Europe.

After looking online for photographers in Ireland, I came across Claire’s work. Then – I realized we both were a part of a photography group on Facebook and I knew she was the one I wanted to work with! With her schedule & our trip itinerary, the only day that worked out to shoot, was our first day in Ireland! We landed on a Thursday night at 6PM, and scheduled our shoot for Friday at 3:00PM.

To be honest – I was worried I was maybe making us do too much the first day there. But I could not have been more wrong. We barely slept on the plane, so it was easy for us to fall right asleep after we checked into our hotel and had dinner. We ordered Irish Breakfast Room Service and both about fell over when a feast was rolled into our room. (TAKE ME BACK TO IRELAND). Then, after grabbing a Starbucks (DUH), Claire picked us up and drove us to the Howth Cliffs.

I cannot tell you how much we loved our shoot with Claire. She was the kindest person, and acted as a tour guide for the afternoon. She showed us some beautiful areas around Dublin & then after our shoot – we sat in Starbucks and warmed up over some coffee and pastries.

These images will forever be some of my very favorites. I cannot believe I had not blogged them already!

Thank you Claire, you made all of my wishes a reality.

Best of 2016 : Portraits

Over the past 12 months – I have been able to not only pursue my passion of being a wedding & portrait photographer – but I have built some friendships with some of the best clients. We are so grateful for not only a year full of weddings, but also being able to have over 100 portrait shoots in the midst of it all.

These images have been taken over all 12 months of the year – some in the freezing cold, some in the hot sun, some in the midst of a rainstorm – and every shoot has been something I am so grateful for!

Thank you so much for trusting me to capture all of your seasons. From finding out you were expecting a baby and your growing baby bump, to the first days of your baby being home as a newborn, from your family & children growing up, to engagements and couples and even 25 year anniversaries.

Two times this year I hosted mini-sessions and both days were full of back-to-back sessions with beautiful families. Two of my favorite days of the year! They are always such a success – our hope is to do 4 mini-session days in 2017 to allow more people to be in on the action!

Now – for the images.

But first – one more time.

If you are interested in booking a portrait session for 2017, we are now booking for all months of the year!

Alyssa & Dillon : Maple Valley Photographer

Alyssa contacted me about a portrait session and once she told me the details, I knew I had to be the one to photograph it. Alyssa and Dillon have been together for a while, but he was stationed overseas while in the military. He would be home for a couple of weeks, and she wanted to get some photos.

These two were so easy, so fun, and so relaxed. Not to mention Alyssa is a hairstylist and had the best STYLE of anyone. Ever. From her cute outfits, to perfect hair, to her shoes that I just had to go out and buy, this girl made my job so easy. Not to mention they are snuggly. Which is my idea of perfection. Beautiful, Snuggly Couples? Always.

When Dillon changed into his uniform for a few photos, Alyssa even brought the CUTEST flag to use in some of the photos. LOVE when a couple chooses something that is special to them to add to the photos. It makes the images pop!

Here are my favorites from our shoot!
