Where do I begin? I am about to share with you a piece of my life, a person who is so dear to my heart.

Meet : Tara Mae.

I introduce her to people as “my sister” because that is what she has become. She has become my family. We met in 2008 when we both were at Generational Leadership and became friends after a few months. Once the year was over, Tara moved into my home, and became a member of my family. For the past three years, she has been a member of my family and one of the dearest people in my life. She is kind, caring, thoughtful. She puts the needs of others before her own. She is a treasure hunter. She sees the beauty in old things that most people overlook. And she does the same thing to the people around her. She sees the beauty, the good things, the hidden treasures in each person and with her sweet spirit, she draws them out. She is a peacemaker and the best listener. She pushes me to dream big, to pursue the things that I am afraid of, and to set my goals a little higher.

This, friends, is one of the reasons why I am who I am today. I have heard people talk about influential people in their lives, and I have a long list. I am so blessed to have a life full of beautiful, wonderful people who help me dream, believe, and grow. But one of the people who does just that is Tara. She has helped me shoot weddings, comes with to assist on some portrait shoots, & is the person who I bounce every idea off of, and who proof-reads every blog post. (Except this one, so sorry about any spelling errors!) If everyone was lucky enough to have a friend like Tara, the world would be full of happy people.
