Mabel McKinley Styled Shoot

A few months ago, I opened my Instagram and there was a notification in the top right corner. New Direct Message.

I opened a message from Sarah from Mabel McKinley – and was SO excited!

My friends had told me about their clothes and I had seen her social media posts. And she asked if I would be available to photograph their summer collection that would be coming out. While it didn’t work out for me to shoot their summer line – we set a date for the end of August knowing that it would be the ideal time for a shoot with some golden light and perfect weather!

Fast forward – we ended up working together for the Fall Clothing Launch and I cannot tell you how much fun that we had together!

We wandered around one of my favorite places to take photos – had a group of 5 BEAUTIFUL models, and racks + racks of Mabel’s gorgeous clothes! Sarah had communicated that she wanted an “urban” vibe for the images & we chose a place with lots of fun buildings and different walls!

To be completely honest – I was so nervous before the shoot. I photograph weddings, and families, and senior photos – but this is the first time that I would be working with models.

I could not WAIT to get home and get the images on my computer. It went PERFECTLY and I am so grateful for everyone working together to create such incredible images! I’m already ready for the next shoot!

Now – let’s show you these images!!!

Downtown Seattle Rooftop Styled Shoot with Kaleb Norman James Design

When one of your best friend is also your very favorite wedding designer, it’s basically like every day is Christmas.

When Kaleb mentioned us doing a styled shoot, I was 1,000% on board. If you haven’t seen his work, first – get your life together. Second, follow him on Instagram : @kalebnormanjames and just get lost for hours looking at the beautiful things he creates every weekend.

The styled shoot was planned for January 4th. Knowing Seattle, we were prepared for rain. But we got incredibly lucky with beautiful sunshine. Don’t let it fool you though, Madeline, our gorgeous model, was such a trooper because it was FREEZING.

The Hotel Sorrento in Downtown Seattle opened up their rooftop ballroom and outdoor space for us to use. Yessie Libby was our glam squad, and I just want her to help me get ready every day. BHLDN sent us two amazing dresses to use. Kaleb & his team created a table that I want to spend every meal eating at, along with a bouquet that gives me all of the heart eyes. Madeline Minkema could not have been a more perfect model for the shoot. Krissanna Elizabeth provided all of the invitations, menu cards, and paper goods.

The shoot was featured on Cake & Lace earlier this summer, and that was such a treat! To view the feature, click on this link :

These are truly some of my favorite images. Not only was I given the most beautiful things to photograph, there is something about shooting for fun that takes the stress off, and allows creativity to just flow!

Now, here are the images. I just want to jump into my computer every time I see one of these images. Love them so much!

Mountain View Manor : Wedding Inspiration Photo Shoot

First, I need to say how very grateful I am for the tribe of friends, family, and colleagues who surround my business. This shoot is the creation of multiple talented people & businesses who all donated their time, energy, and talents to make it a huge success!

Thursday night, we were able to create a photoshoot that was full of rich, beautiful colors and details, along with a couple who is SO in love. Mountain View Manor provided the perfect background, and the golden hour light was perfect from all angles.

Thank you to all of the businesses I worked with! They blew me away with their kindness and creativity throughout the process. It has been an honor working with you. Looking forward to many weddings together in the future!

Also, a HUGE thank you to our models, Dain & Janessa. Janessa and Dain are two of my closest friends, and were kind enough to put on some fancy wedding attire and snuggle up in front of my camera.

Now, let’s get to the good stuff. THE IMAGES!

LOOK at these flowers! Paula from Paisley Petals in Enumclaw took our vision and made it a reality!

Chelsie Dofelmier, a friend and local makeup artist used her favorite line of products to create a look that was the perfect amount of glam! The Younique products she used on Janessa’s look are below! My favorite thing about Janessa’s makeup is the Lip Stain. Her lips looked perfect the entire night, and the color doesn’t transfer to the groom during kisses!

This gorgeous lace dress was rented from Rent the Runway. The process of choosing a dress was so easy with the customer reviews, along with the fact that they send you 2 different sizes so you can find which dress fits best! This Jill Stuart gown was perfection! I love that we went with something different than a traditional white/ivory gown. Your wedding should be a reflection of YOU. If that means a beautiful blush dress, GO FOR IT!

A huge thank you goes to Whimsical Prints! They created these invitations & paper goods that went with our theme perfectly!

Nordstrom was kind enough to let us use some fun clutches for our shoot! This Jessica McClintock bag with fringe was one of our favorites!

GET IT GIRL! I LOVE the ribbon details that Paula added to the bouquet!

Mountain View Manor has some of the most picturesque backdrops on their property. Don’t you just want to sit down and have dinner at this table? I do!

These adorable chalkboard signs were hand lettered by Julianne of Something to Chalk About! The perfect addition to the Bride & Groom’s chairs!

These gold chargers. I LOVE them. The lace detail is to die for. Purchased from Koyal Wholesale!

Macarons were purchased from Le Panier at Pike Place Market!

Dain wore a sharp Hugo boss suit, along with a bow tie from The Tie Bar.

This fun tassel garland is from Tuck & Bonte!

For some fun reception photos, Janessa changed into a fun statement necklace from Stella & Dot!

Those shoes. I love them!

A huge thank you goes to all of the vendors who made this a possibility! I would recommend each and every business listed here! Make sure to take a look at their websites if you are planning  a wedding!
