February Favorites

Okay Friends, I thought it would be fun to do a little round up of some of my favorite things of the moment! Recipes, products, clothes, books, etc. I am the biggest fan of word-of-mouth marketing, and I love when I know one of my friends has tried a product and love it! It makes it all the more easy to trust their review.

1.) Meal Planning

OMG. Give me all of the meal plans. This is different than meal prepping, because I am not about to eat the same meal 5 nights in a row. #notmystyle But my New Year’s Resolution this year was to take every Sunday evening and meal plan for the week ahead & also to create a grocery list for the week. It has honestly changed our lives in such a good way.

Not only are we eating at home 5-6 nights a week, but we have been so surprised with the amount of $$ we are saving by not going out. It is so easy for us to just jump in the car and decide that we are gonna go out, but by having everything purchased and planned for dinner has made that much easier to forego! We have been eating and home and LOVING it!

2.) THESE Booties by Blondo!

I bought these before Ireland, but I just NEED you to know that I am still 100% in love with them. They are waterproof, basically stain proof, all of it! They still look brand new, and wearing them around for an entire day is no problem. The heel is short enough for walking and roaming, and they can be dressed up for a date night!

3.) MY FAVORITE BLANKET. EVER.

I am such a texture girl. If a blanket is scratchy, it is of absolutely no use. Give me all of the soft blankets, and this Barefoot Dreams throw is no exception. Ever since we bought it I have been snuggled up whenever I can. Reading, editing, watching tv, blogging…you name it. If it is an activity that will allow a blanket, this blanket is with me!

I found mine at Nordstrom Rack, but they have more colors online at Nordstrom.

4.) THIS Little Kitchen Robot. The Instant Pot

I feel like the IP is all over Facebook lately for being everyone’s favorite new kitchen gadget, and I am one more person who jumped on that bandwagon. Long Story Short, it is an electric pressure cooker. It also has a slow cooker function, along with some other functions that I have yet to try. My favorite thing to make in it is chicken breasts (we shred them up for use in tacos, soups, etc.) and mashed potatoes. OH! And Ribs. Fall off the bone in 40 minutes. AMAZING. Oh. and hard boiled eggs.

The amount of things you can make in the Instant Pot are endless, but I will tell you – it is worth the hype.

My favorite IP Recipes :

5.) Kyle’s Pick : THESE DRESS SHOES. (Or are they slippers?)

Cole Haan makes beautiful shoes, but when Cole & Nike decided to partner up…Basically our lives changed. Kyle has these shoes in 3 colors, but recently purchased these grey suede ones and I absolutely love them!

If you’ve seen us at weddings, you know that Kyle is always running around making things happen for not only us, but for everyone at the wedding. These have a Nike sole with a Cole Haan upper, so they feel like a running shoe, while looking nice. Basically the shoe version of a mullet. Business on the top, party on the bottom.

6.) THIS MASCARA.

My favorite stocking stuffer this year was this mascara. My husband is a researcher, and looked high and low for the top-rated mascara of 2016. This topped the charts, and I am a changed woman. Never clumpy, goes on perfectly and adds length & volume. Absolutely LOVE.

7.) These Recipes

I’ve been asked so many times over the past couple months to share some of my favorite recipes of the moment! Here are a few that we can’t get enough of!

Sweet Potato Turkey Chilihttp://pinchofyum.com/rockin-5-ingredient-sweet-potato-turkey-chili

**We top with sour cream, shredded cheese, & a little bit of Sriracha**

Crock Pot Carne Asada  : http://www.howsweeteats.com/2013/09/crockpot-carne-asada-nachos/

**I love using this meat for street tacos, nachos, or burrito bowls! Super flavorful and after cooking all day it just falls apart.**

Crock Pot Brown Sugar Balsamic Pork Tenderloinhttp://thefoodcharlatan.com/2013/10/27/brown-sugar-balsamic-pork-tenderloin/

**My friend Michelle gave me this recipe and I absolutely LOVE it! I serve it with roasted red potatoes, steamed broccoli, or salad.**

8.) THIS BOOK. Cherish by Gary Thomas

One of the BEST books on marriage that I have ever read. Encouraging, inspiring, challenging. This is a book I am planning on buying and gifting to people because it shows the blessing of marriage. It isn’t about the “hard times” or the challenges that marriage can sometimes bring – it focuses on using your words and actions to show love to your spouse and to actually LIKE each other. Highly recommend!

Hopefully you find some new favorites! And, as always, I LOVE hearing about the things YOU are loving! What should be on my wish list for March?!?! Can’t wait to try some new recipes, dig into some new books, and share my favs with you!
